T-REP (Tony - Representing Everything Positive)

T-REP The YP is an awesome performer and actor.  Here he is portraying the lead character of "Sleepy Steve", of the hit book series "The Adventures of Sleepy Steve" by author DeRonte Smith. T-REP also recorded 2 songs for the soundtrack titled "I-Pod  Music" and "The Sleepy Steve Theme Song". 

Anyone who has ever looked for books geared for school age boys knows how challenging it can be to find them. It becomes even more difficult if the boy is a minority.

The Fantastical Adventures of Sleepy Steve by Deronté Smith is a book that any child, boy or girl will enjoy.

As a sixth grader, school happens to be an uncompromising part of life. Each day many kids go to school hiding their secrets whether they have disabilities, insecurities or physical imperfections. Sleepy Steve is the poster child for each as he is overweight, has a sleeping disorder and is insecure with himself because of his issues. With the recent separation of his parents, Steve and his mother relocate for new opportunities and a fresh start. Steve tries to keep his handicap concealed for as long as possible. Upon his first day of school, he encounters Chuck, a Hispanic genius who befriends him immediately. Both Steve and Chuck share the same first and second period class where they meet Ieka, Sammy and Ms. Elle by way of a class assignment. Can Steve keep his secret under wraps? How will Steve 'reunite the stone' or will he?

The Fantastical Adventures of Sleepy Steve centers on the life of Steve Jackson who is in the midst of dealing with his parent’s separation. At the start of the school year Steve also has to deal with relocating close to his mother’s better paying job. Topping it all off Steve has a sleeping disorder known as narcolepsy. At his new school Steve, otherwise known as Sleepy Steve, decides that humor is the best way to deal with all of his challenges. Sleepy’s outlook soon attracts the notice of Chuck, the human sponge. Despite his best efforts to keep his narcolepsy a secret Sleepy falls asleep in the middle of class. The diverse group of kids consisting of “Chuck, an Indian boy named Sammy who is the son of a diplomat, Ikea the street smart girl bully and Ms. Elle, the prissy blonde and queen diva of all sixth graders.” To Sleepy’s surprise, this diverse group is accepting of his disorder. The Adventures ensue when Sleepy strives to fulfill a mission given to him by Confucius. Together the five students learn about each other’s cultures as the assist Sleepy in the completion of his mission.

Part one of a five part series, Fantastical Adventures is appealing on a multitude of levels and in some ways remind me of the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn where an innocent young boy exposes all of our adult faults frailties.

An award winning writing and motion picture director, Deronté Smith, resides in Atlanta GA. After the devastating loss of his mother, Smith became the head of his family. This led to the creation of Sleepy Brown. According to Steve, one boy dealing with real life issues could find a renewed sense of pride in his family. The young boy would also gain life experiences dealing with the personal relationships of his friends…” Due to his experience dealing with children, Steve is able to create realistic characters and deliver a moral message devoid of preaching. Steve insists, “If there is one thing I hope that people take away from this book, it is that we, as artists, entertainers, parents and educators must assume responsibility for the lack luster performance our children are showing in school."

New TV Show for the youth... coming spring 2010

T-REP The YP has been announced as the youngest nominee in the history of the Atlanta Gospel Choice Awards in the category of "Best Hip Hop Artist Of The Year". He came in as a top 3 finalist in 2007 along with Grammy Nominated Canton Jones and Hip Hop Legend Sparky D. He also performed 2 times during the 2007 show, opening up for Trin-i-tee 5:7, Canton Jones, and more. He was also a nominee in the 2009 awards as well. T-REP The YP auditioned for the new television talent how "Talent TV for Kids" from The Talent Clubhouse. He landed the lead role of TV Host and DJ. Here is T-REP with the other cast members during a commercial highlighting their first photo shoot.

T-REP The YP landed a lead role in the hot new TV Show "Kidz Connect", a new variety TV show for kids and teens and features a cast from across the Southeast. The show's format will be similar to Niceklodeon's "All That" and will feature comedic skits and original songs performed by the cast. Coming to television soon!

This Student Services Announcement video clip shows some of 13-yr old T-REP The YP's acting, comedic and improv/impromptu skills and his comfort in front of a television, video or film/movie camera. The feature serves as a fun way to share the "Do's & Dont's" at Bishop Eddie L. Long's New Birth Student Ministries.

On Dec 31, 2007 11-Yr Old National Recording Artist T-REP The Young Prayzr was the headlining artist at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. Ebenezer is the home church of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and this event was the 2008 New Year's After Midnight Youth After Party. T-REP The YP received rave reviews after an AWESOME 45 min. concert gettin' the young people of Ebenezer and Atlanta wide straight crunk for Christ! This is the TV Commercial that was televised on Fox 5 and other networks as well as audio features on local syndicated radio stations.
